The USO Presents A Swingin' Salute to Our Troops

A 40's Dance Party and Press Event to launch Songs for Soldiers

On May 26th, 2010, during New York City’s famed Fleet Week, the USO is hosting an exciting evening of celebrities, red carpet, press, US Navy personnel, dancing, food and drink to help launch their new initiative, Songs for Soldiers. The goal of Songs for Soldiers is to provide a new combat ready MP3 player to every single service member in Iraq and Afghanistan.

A Swingin’ Salute to Our Troops will be held at the Union Square Ballroom from 6:30pm to 11:00pm. The evening’s recreates the classic USO dances that helped boost the morale of our Troops. A swing band will keep the joint jumpin’ and Broadway dancers will lead the invitation-only crowd in the Lindy.

Paris Hilton will arrive on the red carpet and address the guests as the new Celebrity Ambassador for Songs for Soldiers. Other celebrities will be on hand to lend their support to the evening’s festivities. Over 100 uniformed Navy service members will be the evening’s honored guests and will be given their own Songs for Soldiers MP3 players, courtesy of sponsor BAE.
